Wisdom & Soul of Australia

Our New Australian Flag - the Sunburnt Flag comprises 4 elements of Nature - the Earth, the Sun, the Sky and the Stars.

It invites us to engage in a partnership with Nature and Each Other.

There is a wisdom inherent in this ancient land that has been nurtured by 2,500 generations of indigenous Australians.

It is the source of the Anzac Spirit.

This wisdom invites Australia to lead the world as one nation with Vision - the only island continent. An ancient land shared with an ancient people who can help us to Respect Nature and lead the world in a renewable sustainable way for mutual benefit.

Australia's uniqueness can foster a future for the planet.

Will we realise this potential together?

"A Closed Mind is a Shallow Device to Preserve Ignorance!"

The ‘Mind’ of 'God' or Creation must be far greater AND inclusive of every individual religion of mankind. Just look at the size of the Universe in the night sky – an invitation to contemplate the enormity of Creation. Here on our shared home the diversity of life and cultures also invites us to be inclusive in our outlook. I believe acts of Love are from our connection to the Divine are therefore healing. I believe acts of Hate are a disconnection from our Divinity......

Sacred Books – There is a choice of many paths from many cultures - plus the guidance from our heart's connection to our soul.

In addition to the guidance I have found in religious and spiritual books I find Nature and Indigenous Wisdom rather wonderful:-

Ancient Wisdom Of The Soul – Uncle Bobby Randall – ‘ The Songman’

The greatest piece of Wisdom I have experienced in my life was as a student at Tranby Aboriginal College attending Aboriginal Philosophy Week on Jack Beetson’s farm – Uncle Bobby Randall – " The Songman " & one of the traditional owners of Uluru – at the heart of our land shared the following with me:-

“Stephen”
“EVERYTHING in our life is a GIFT that we bring to ourself from our SOUL”.

One day I will explain WHY this was such a profound piece of wisdom that I was deeply connected to my soul in that moment. A tear of recognition came to my eyes, and I was filled with deep gratitude in that moment of insight. The tear was because my heart had so deeply connected to my soul.

Uncle Bobby's stories are told in the book " Songman " and the 2006 film Kanyini (" Connectedness ") by Melanie Hogan. See www.kanyini.com released 31 August 2006 in Australia and March 2007 in UK. Uncle Bobby is one of the most loving human beings that I have ever met. His humbleness and majesty is quite inspiring.

Thank you to my Aboriginal ‘mum’ Ali Golding whose guidance was the catalyst to remembering this moment when my heart was hurting a great deal in 2006….

The wisdom is indeed in each of us if we can listen to our soul. A tear was my hallmark of recognition that my heart had indeed connected to my soul.

Maybe –

The Secret of Happiness – for all:-
Love and Respect, For ONEself, For Each Other, and For the Planet,
Including our shared spirit and shared humanity, inviting hope
.

Stephen’s Quest for His Life:-

Life is a gift of Love where each of us discovers our Soul by opening our connection to Creation.

What do you wish to create from your Gifts?

Stephen Berry – still searching out my own gifts and those of others…..

Thank you to all those who have inspired me along this continuing journey.

The extraordinary beauty of life is available for EACH OF US to discover!

Viva La Difference ……………

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS - NATIONAL SORRY DAY - 26 MAY 2006.

Much as I would love to have fully integrated this wisdom as part of my being, I am sorry to say I have yet to learn to focus on the positive aspects of others ahead of a certain desperate need to be appreciated, loved and respected myself. I am still only a fraction of the true gentleman my late father Bruce Berry set as an example for me from a young age. He was a naturally good man and is greatly missed.

PERSONAL REFLECTIONS - JUNE 2007

Hey dad - it would have been your 80th birthday this month. Thank you for giving me a love for others and a hope to make a difference.

PERSONAL RELFLECTIONS - FOR 13TH FEBRUARY 2008 - OFFICAL 'APOLOGY DAY'

It seems Australia now has a new emerging vision for its future. There is a new sense of hope for all of us. A new sense of Partnership and Respect.

For us to become equal partners our national symbol must be one of equal partnership. One inspired by one of our greatest Australians - Cathy Freeman.

A new beginning of mutual respect. I honour our new PM Kevin Rudd for today expressing our new vision. Our Place of Partnership - Aussie mateship coming of age.

Is the next step to include indigenous Australia in our national flag?
